Most people know actress Laura San Giacomo and BAFTA Award and two-time Golden Globe Award nominee best for her roles in "Pretty Woman", "Sex, Lies and Videotapes" and TV roles. That San Giacomo has a son with cerebral palsy is less well known.
This conversation about raising a disabled son in Hollywood took place at the premiere of "Naked Son," a film in which she stars as a mother.
San Giacomo cautions that everybody's experience is different, then explains her approach. She believes the power to transform any situation is to breathe and stay present. While this sounds easy and straightforward, the practical application demands much more. As San Giacomo puts it, "There's a thousand hours of work behind every prayer."
